A smiling woman with long hair that’s light brown with grey highlights, glasses, and a tan cardigan, is sitting in an office chair and holding a handmade ceramic mug that is amber-glazed with a leaf design, and filled with a latte. She wears a gold bracelet and ring. In the softly blurred background is a cozy home office with plants, framed art, a stained-glass lamp, and a window on the side with house pants. The overlaid text reads: 'My client asked, "What else can I do that I thought was impossible for me?"' In the bottom corners appears the Life Enhancement Coaching logo and website, Life-Enhancement-Coaching.com.

Turns Out, I Can

September 08, 2026•2 min read

My client passed a very important motor vehicle exam that he had failed twice before when he was younger.

He had come to believe that his AudHD meant he could never drive—easy enough to avoid thanks to his country’s robust public transportation. Now his recent successes gave him the courage to try again.

“I thought I couldn’t drive fast moving machines,” he said. "Turns out, I can do that!”

Then he started listing things he believed his AudHD made impossible that he’s now doing:

🔸 “I thought my ADHD meant I can never make phone calls. Now I can do them.

🔸 I thought my Autism meant I can’t make friends. Now I have them.

🔸 I thought I could never dance. Not only am I dancing but I’ve performed on stage in front of people.

🔸 I thought I could never fight. Now, I’m doing Muay Thai.

➡️ I believed I could never do these things because of my nature. But I can do them now. This is me.”

His smaller successes came first,
🔸 Phone calls
🔸 Friends
🔸 Dancing
🔸 Muay Thai

➡️ Those gave him the confidence to conquer the exam that had beaten him twice.

The false beliefs about his limitations were set early in his childhood by well-meaning adults in an educational system that didn’t understand neurodivergence.

➡️ Now that he’s an adult, he has the agency to test what he’s been told.

A throughline of my coaching is,
“You can take on the world if you’re not fighting yourself.”

My client’s past failures on the exam were fighting the person he was becoming.
By passing the test, he put that to rest and is becoming more fully himself.

He said his biggest takeaway from our session was,
🔸 “What else can I do that I thought was impossible for me?”

His goal for the week,
➡️find out by continuing to challenge his beliefs.

❓ What have you been told that you can’t do, that now you can?
